test your mic in windows/control panel/sound and audio devices/voice/voice recording then select the device you have plugged your mic into from the drop down box then click test hardware. Please make note of the device name that worked here. Now open ultrastar and goto options and then record and the first option at the top of this window press your left or right cursor keys till it shows the device then move down to channels if you only have one mic change channel 1 to 1 and leave channel 2 at 0 else if you have 2 mic's change channel 2 at 2 then go into the game and test. YOU WILL NOT HEAR YOURSELF THROUGH THE SPEAKERS SO YOU CANT TEST THIS WAY. The best way is to turn on oscilliscope and you will see a graphical representation of your voice at the top of the screen. Hi ! just made my own mic and having some problems.. i am working on it.. ( when the volume from mic is too high program ends it work.. its way better than in the beginning of my problems when it stop at music list loading or later - memory could not be read.. now just this mic.. ) Cheers
