Hello all. I was introduced to ultrastar last night when we were celebrating the new year (or decade), and I just realized there is no return to singstar for me. So I'm going to sell the playstation and just use a laptop to play ultrastar from now on. Singstar mics, both wired and wireless, seem to work right off when I plug them in to the pc, but the problem for me is to get the picture of the laptop to show on TV. Most usb-tv adapters you find will be just meant for getting the tv to show on your screen, not for showing your screen feed on tv. My laptop and tv are old-ish, so there is no tv-out on my laptop either. Is there any way around this without buying a new laptop and/or tv?

And also: What do you use to get your computer video feed to show on the tv so that you can play ultrastar on your tv? Pictures of the connectors and/or hardware you use would be nice. Thank you.

if you have a LCD or plasma TV then just use a vga cable (just search vga cable on ebay) and a phono cable - also ebay cheap search PC TV cable kit

I use composite cable through PC TV out for very old CRT and VGA for LCD plus audio. I can use HDMI cable, but my netbook doesn't have this output.
